What is RAM?

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It's where your computer keeps everything it's actively working on right now — open apps, browser tabs, the document you're editing. It's extremely fast to read and write, but completely temporary. The moment you turn off your computer, RAM is wiped clean.

RAM = fast, temporary workspace. Not storage — it doesn't save anything permanently.
